Altaro VM Backup now also available to companies and organizations as a subscription

Customers can enjoy the same robust functionality via different purchasing models

Malta, 4 August, 2020: Altaro VM Backup, the award-winning virtual machine (VM) backup solution for Hyper-V and VMware environments, is now also available for purchase as a subscription.

Altaro VM Backup is a tried and tested virtual machine (VM) backup and replication solution for Hyper-V and VMware environments. Designed for IT departments, IT resellers and consultants and Managed Service Providers (MSPs), the solution provides robust, streamlined, enterprise-level functionality. It is characterized by ease of use, speed, affordability and 24/7 technical support.

New pay-per-VM model on annual or multi-year subscription

So far, customers have only been able to purchase a perpetual license on a pay-per-host model. As from today, they can opt for a pre-paid annual or multi-year subscription to Altaro VM Backup. With this new purchasing model, subscribers pay per VM and can move VMs across hosts with no restraints.

A subscription includes 24/7 technical support, all the latest features and any patch fixes. A starting subscription of 5 VMs per year applies and access to the product ends once the subscription expires unless it is renewed.

All other aspects of Altaro VM Backup, such as functionality and editions, remain unchanged. A comparison between editions and a pricing calculator is available here

Giving customers the flexibility they need

"Some of our customers have told us they find subscription services more affordable, making it simpler for them to manage and predict expenses, and easier to obtain approval for as they fall under OpEx rather than CapEx. We therefore wanted to accommodate them by offering a subscription model where they can pay annually, and scale up or down as needed, rather than making a larger one-time payment," explained David Vella, Altaro CEO.
