Altaro Community Outreach Program Launched

To provide IT community help groups with up to 25 FREE Oops!Backup™ licenses each

December 9, 2009 - Valletta, Malta: Altaro Software, a new company aiming to be one of the leaders in the global backup and versioning software industry, today launched the Altaro Community Outreach Program (ACOP), an initiative aimed at assisting online IT community forums that help thousands of people every day for free.

Altaro is happy to present each community that joins the Altaro Community Outreach Program with up to 25 FREE Oops!Backup licenses to give away to their readers as part of a contest or in any way they deem fit. ACOP members will be granted the opportunity to put their own logo, website link and tag line in the Oops!Backup main user interface – thereby enabling them to share this prime real estate with Oops!Backup . Users of the free licenses will therefore automatically see the community logo within Oops!Backup  - prominently displayed.

At Altaro we understand how important tech communities are to home and business users worldwide. Over time, each of these communities end up being a brand themselves - a brand that is purely marketed through word of mouth. We have therefore created the Altaro Community Outreach Program to enable these communities to increase their brand coverage – and the assistance they provide - by leveraging our software,” says David Vella, CEO, Altaro Software.

Altaro is pleased to kick off this initiative with its first ACOP member: The Windows Club (www.thewindowsclub.com).  The Windows Club is conceptualized, created and owned by Anand Khanse, aka HappyAndyK, a Microsoft MVP, and an end-user Windows enthusiast. The Windows Club is a Microsoft-Featured Community and is primarily targeted at the Windows 7 and Windows Vista user.

Anand Khanse says “This novel initiative by Altaro Software, promises to be a win-win situation. We are pleased to be the first one in this tie-up and we urge all to take up this offer and distribute Oops!Backup™ licenses to their readers. Our members have been associated with this product as Beta testers for quite some time now and we can say that Oops!Backup is a one of its kind back-up program, in the sense that it allows you to travel back in time to recover one or more versions of your important documents, photos or any other files.

Altaro Software urges communities interested in ACOP to visit the Altaro ACOP site  at http://www.altaro.com/community-outreach-program.php for more information about the program.

About Altaro Software

Altaro Software, a young company based in Malta Europe, employs enthusiastic people who understand that one way to innovate is to take a step back from the implementation details and ask three important questions: How does it work?; Why is it done like that? and most importantly: Says Who?   Through answers to these questions we can break through complacencies in problem-solving and what is sometimes wrongly referred to as ‘Common Wisdom’ – the acceptance of something as is just because everyone does it that way.

This philosophy is represented in Altaro's first product – Oops!Backup.  For more information about Altaro Software and Oops!Backup visit the Altaro website at www.altaro.com
